Where Red Stag is stronger
- Big and heavy freight. Red Stag says it negotiates additional-handling and oversize surcharges and dimensional divisors with carriers and passes the savings on. If your average package is over 10 pounds, that is the core of its pitch.
- Two warehouses. An East Coast and a West Coast site let you split inventory for shorter ground transit to each coast.
- Written guarantees. Red Stag publishes four guarantees (dock-to-stock in 2 business days, no shrinkage, pick and pack accuracy, on-time shipments) and says it pays when it misses them.
- Retail and B2B. Red Stag lists routing guide compliance, EDI, LTL and FTL for retail orders, plus kitting and returns.
- Compliance. Red Stag lists FDA registration and serial and lot tracking.
Where Orderfy is stronger
- Proprietary inventory software for your Amazon stock. Orderfy Prep clients get Orderfy WMS, built in-house, at no extra cost: shipment progress, SKUs with UPC, ASIN and FNSKU, expected versus counted units, and list prices that update your Amazon listing.
- Lower freight costs into Amazon. Orderfy Prep combines sellers' shipments into consolidated FTL, which costs less than small parcel. Your cost depends on volume, lane and season.
- One central warehouse for parcel-sized goods. From Dallas-Fort Worth, ground shipping reaches both coasts quickly by ground, depending on carrier and service level, and many Amazon fulfillment centers are nearby.
- Photos of every shipment. We photograph every delivery on arrival and packed orders and pallets daily before pickup.
- Direct access to the warehouse team. Every client gets direct communication channels for 24/7 access to our warehouse team.
- No weight threshold. Orderfy is built around Shopify and Amazon small-parcel volume, with no minimum order volume.
Pricing and minimums
Red Stag does not publish rates. Its pricing page directs you to a sales form that asks for average package weight, monthly package volume (up to 100,000+), monthly pallet volume and SKU count, and its homepage promises "a custom quote if we're a fit, a referral to a better-matched 3PL if we're not." We could not find a published minimum.
Orderfy quotes from your numbers too and itemizes every charge, including how postage is billed. Orderfy has no volume minimum; ask for a quote. For any 3PL, ask for the full fee schedule, minimum and contract term in writing before you sign, and see how to choose a 3PL.
If you ship heavy goods, ask each provider for the same three numbers: your additional-handling and oversize surcharge rate, the dimensional divisor, and the all-in cost per order for your average package.
Which should you choose?
Pick Red Stag if your products are big, heavy or bulky, you want two warehouses, and written guarantees and retail compliance matter more than a single central location.
Pick Orderfy if you sell at high volume on Shopify and Amazon in parcel-sized boxes and want FBA prep with Orderfy WMS included, consolidated FTL into Amazon, a central Dallas-Fort Worth warehouse that reaches both coasts quickly, photos of every shipment and direct access to the people handling your inventory.
