Stord calls itself the Consumer Experience Company and pairs a North American fulfillment network with an OMS, WMS and consumer-facing software. Orderfy is a tech-enabled, modern 3PL with one warehouse in Garland, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Orderfy WMS, a proprietary WMS built in-house, included for every client. Here is how they compare for a Shopify brand at 5,000 or more orders a month.
We are Orderfy, so we are not neutral. We kept this comparison to facts you can check: the Stord details come from Stord's own website, as of October 2026, with links at the end. Prices and policies change, so confirm anything important with Stord directly.
Choose Stord if you are a mid-market or enterprise brand that needs several fulfillment nodes, an OMS and WMS suite, freight, cold storage or retail distribution under one vendor, as of October 2026. Choose Orderfy if you ship parcel-sized Shopify and Amazon volume and want one central Dallas-Fort Worth warehouse, Orderfy WMS (proprietary, built in-house) included, photo records and direct 24/7 access to the warehouse team.

Where is Stord stronger?
Stord is built for scale and complexity. These are the areas where it has the edge.
- A bigger network. Stord lists first-party facilities in Atlanta, Texas, Connecticut, Kentucky, Utah, Nevada, California, Washington, North Carolina, Tennessee and Canada, plus the UK, and a partner network beyond that. If you need stock close to customers in several regions, a single warehouse cannot match it.
- Software beyond the warehouse. Its suite includes an AI OMS, order routing, multichannel inventory, last-mile optimization, expiration management and consumer-experience tools such as branded tracking and estimated delivery dates.
- Transportation. Stord lists LTL, drayage and retail consolidation, so inbound and outbound freight can sit with the same vendor.
- Cold chain and specialty services. It lists frozen, refrigerated and chilled capacity, cross docking and pallet-in, pallet-out.
- Retail and B2B distribution. Stord says it supports B2B and DTC across its network. If retail compliance drives your decision, ask every 3PL you shortlist for proof in writing.
- Enterprise proof points. Stord says it delivered to nearly 20% of US homes in 2025 for its customers, which include brands such as AG1, Native and Tula.
Where is Orderfy stronger?
Orderfy is narrower on purpose. It is a modern 3PL for high-volume Shopify and Amazon brands, and these are the areas where it fits better.
- A WMS included, with no separate software decision. Orderfy WMS is proprietary software Orderfy built in-house, and it is included. You get full visibility into inventory and products, track orders at every stage, and can update product prices from the WMS.
- Native Shopify integration. Inventory syncs in real time, tracking reaches Shopify instantly after a label, and split shipments are supported.
- A single, simple operation. One building in Dallas-Fort Worth means one inbound shipment to plan and one inventory count to reconcile, while ground still reaches both coasts quickly.
- Photo records and direct access. Orderfy photographs shipments, and every client gets direct communication channels for 24/7 access to the warehouse team and dedicated staff who learn your brand.
- Surge handling. Product launches and limited-time drops are handled by the same dedicated team.
- Weekly billing with autopay. Charges arrive weekly, so you see cost movement early.
- Amazon FBA prep in the same building. Orderfy Prep tracks prep from arrival to sellable in the same WMS, with consolidated full-truckload freight into Amazon that costs less than small parcel.
Who is Orderfy not a good fit for?
Orderfy may not be the right pick if you need cold or frozen storage, drayage and managed freight, or stock in several regions and countries from day one. A brand that wants a full OMS, WMS and consumer-experience suite from one vendor may also be better served by Stord.
How do pricing and minimums compare?
Neither company publishes rates. Stord's pricing page says every business is unique and asks you to schedule time with an expert, and we did not find a published minimum on the pages we reviewed. Orderfy quotes from your numbers and itemizes every charge.
Because Stord sells software, freight and fulfillment, ask it to separate the lines on the quote: warehouse fees, software fees, transportation and any onboarding charge. Then ask Orderfy for the same 10,000-order sample so you compare like with like. Our 3PL cost calculator shows how to compare an itemized rate card with a bundled one.
Which should you choose?
| If this describes you | Better starting point |
|---|---|
| Shopify or Amazon brand with parcel-sized products at 5,000+ orders a month | Orderfy |
| Several fulfillment nodes, freight and an OMS from one vendor | Stord |
| Cold, frozen or refrigerated inventory | Stord |
| You want photo records and a direct line to the people packing your orders | Orderfy |
| You also sell on Amazon and need FBA prep with consolidated freight into Amazon | Orderfy |
| Enterprise brand with a dedicated-facility requirement | Stord |
What should you ask both providers?
- Which facility would hold my inventory, and what is the plan if I need a second location?
- What is the all-in cost per order for my sample 10,000 orders, with software, postage and packaging separated?
- What minimums, onboarding fees and contract terms apply, in writing?
- How does inventory sync with Shopify, and how quickly does tracking return?
- What happens to a mis-pick: do you reship free and credit the fee?
- Who do I reach at night or on a weekend when something goes wrong?
